Social Networks

There are way too many social groups to list them all here - so our friends over at Rainbow Network Victoria have an up-to-date list on their website. Check it out.



Minus18 is Australia’s largest network for LGBTI young people. Our crew of over 40 young people run underage dance parties, workshops and social events for young people all throughout Victoria.

Rainbow Network Victoria

This is the statewide network for anyone who works with transgender and/or same sex attracted young people. Their website also contains a list of Same Sex and Gender Questioning  youth support groups across Victoria




The WayOut Project works with communities in Macedon Ranges to raise awareness for homophobia and connect same sex attracted young people. The WayOut project specialises in rural youth groups and resources.




GASP is Geelong’s very own safe and inclusive space for young people aged between 12-25. They meet weekly in central Geelong to talk about their experiences, have fun and get information and advice


Transgender and  Gender Diverse


Zoe Belle Gender Collective

Provides support and for Trans and Gender Diverse individuals in Victoria. Zoe Belle Gender Collective specialise in online resources and support.



Parents for Gender Diverse Children

A group of parents who have come together to advocate for and support gender diverse children and their families. http://www.pgdc.org.au/


Sistergirl and Brotherboys Australia
Online group for Gender diverse Aboriginal Sistergirls and Brotherboys. They also invite family friends and supporters to be involved. Join their Facebook page here.



Organisation Intersex International Australia (Oii)

Oii Australia is a national body by and for people with intersex variations. OII promote human rights and bodily autonomy for intersex people, and provide information, education and peer support. Oii.org.au


AIS Support Group Australia

AIS Support all people who are intersex, they provide peer support, information and advocacy group aissga.org.au


School Support

Safe Schools Coalition Victoria

A group of schools, staff and students dedicated to supporting gender and sexual diversity and challenging discrimination.


Stand Out: Against Homophobia in Schools

Developed in partnership between Minus18 and Safe Schools Coalition Victoria, Stand Out is a resource for any student wanting to challenge homophobia in their school.




Mental Health and Support


Gay and Lesbian Switchboard is a support hotline for anyone with questions about their identity or in need of some to talk things over with.




Lifeline is a phone hotline for crisis support. Available 24/7 for the cost of a local call for all Australians.




Headspace is the national youth mental health foundation and supports young people going through a tough time. Check out their website to find your nearest headspace centre or for online and telephone mental health support.



Black Rainbow


Black Rainbow Australia are an Indigenous mental health support source for Aboriginal and Torres Strait LGBTI people. Blackrainbow.org.au


Family Access Network (FAN)

FAN’s Homeless Support Services provides assistance for young people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. FAN also offers transitional housing for SSAGQ young people and a weekly support group.



Victorian Anti Violence Project

VicAVP provide support for LGBTI people experiencing violence of any kind. Their website has resources and a form to report violence (anonymously if you want).



Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission

Contains information and support if you have experienced discrimination. Their website has great information on your rights, as well as an area to report a person or business who you believe has discriminated against you.



Sexual Health Information

Youth Empowerment Against HIV/AIDS

YEAH is an Australian youth driven health promotion organisation supporting young people to lead HIV and sexual health awareness in their local communities and take control of their sexual health. redaware.org.au


Victorian AIDS Council (VAC)

VAC is an organisation dedicated to promoting positive health and wellbeing to the gay and lesbian community.VAC also supports Equinox, a Gender Diverse Health Service that offers bulk billing Doctors,counselling and events.





Scarleteen is a website full of sex education for the real world. Thousands of sexual health questions are answered for you - nothing is off limits!





Youth Disability Advocacy Service an advocacy service for young people with disabilities in Victoria.YDAS works directly with young people with disabilities aged 12-25 to achieve their human rights through advocacy and support. Check out their awesome work at ydas.org.au!

Religious Organisations

Queer Muslim Students Australia
Is a Student Organization that aims to represent Queer Muslim Students in Australia, and help those who identify as both queer and Muslim to reconcile and celebrate their dual identity. Queermuslimstudentsaus.wordpress


Aleph supports gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and  queer people in Melbourne's Jewish community. http://aleph.org.au/
